Christian is leading the Research Group on Climate and Food Security where we are conducting research on climate smart agriculture and sustainable food production systems, including intercropping, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry and urban farming with a focus on protein sources for plant based diets to reduce GHG emissions and improve human health. Christian is currently leading Pillar 1 in the H2020 LANDMARK project, where he is coordinating the development of the online Soil Navigator Decision Support System for farmers and advisors.
In addition, Chrisitian is working on innovative solutions for food system transformation and climate change mitigation by applying crop modelling, environmental indicators, life cycle analysis, GHG accounting and decision support systems to increase resource use efficiencies in the food value chain. Christian has led several national innovation projects funded by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark, contributed to several national and EU projects related to sustainable food production and climate change.
