Prof. Sašo Džeroski is a Scientific Councillor (senior researcher) at the Department of Knowledge Technologies of the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) and the Centre of Excellence for Integrated Approaches in Chemistry and Biology of Proteins. He is also a full professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School. He leads a group of 15 researchers concerned with the development of machine learning and data mining techniques and their application to practical problems from environmental and life sciences, including agriculture and forestry.
Key tasks in LANDMARK
The MPS team will play an important role in WP3 and Pillar 1 of LANDMARK, where it will contribute to understanding soil functions by using data mining to relate soil properties (as well as land use/ management practices) and soil functions. It will help in identifying indicators of overall soil function as well as different individual aspects thereof. The MPS team will also contribute to WP2.
